The fantasy film adaptation of the iconic ballet was directed by acclaimed Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky, who also co-wrote the movie with Chris Solimine.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The Nutcracker In 3D&#8217; follows Mary, played by Elle Fanning, as her dull Christmas becomes exciting when her Uncle Albert, portrayed by Nathan Lane, arrives with an enchanted nutcracker. Her new friend, The Nutcracker, played by Charlie Rowe, who goes by NC, comes to life and takes her on a journey into his magical world.<\/p>\n<p>While on their journey, Mary meets fairies, sugarplums and other Christmas toys as they come to life. However, she soon realizes that the kingdom is facing danger from the evil Rat King, portrayed by John Turturro, and his mother, played by Frances de la Tour.
