Every November 1 is Day of the Dead<\/a>, and one odd, but weirdly fun way to take part in all things dead is to read Girls and Corpses Magazine, particularly if you’re the type that likes to see your centerfolds next to a rotting body. <\/p>\n

According to the Los Angeles Daily News<\/a>, Girls and Corpses Magazine was started by the magazine’s “deaditor-in-chief” Robert Steven Rhine, who is also a filmmaker, comedy writer, actor and publicist, as well as the author of comic books like “Selected Readings from Satan’s Powder Room.” His magazine reflects the point of view he cultivated from a horrific accident that happened to him when he was a kid. <\/p>\n

“I had a pretty horrifying accident when I was 10 years old, a skull fracture,” he said to the Daily News. “I technically died, they had to put 65 stitches in my head.” <\/p>\n

Rhine said that the accident left him with a crazy imagination that allows him to come up with outrageous ideas. “I never have had to think of anything,” he said. “I just write it down as quick as I can. I have a dark side, maybe because of my head injury. If i tried to think screwed-up, it would be too much for people. What goes on in my head is so much darker.”<\/p>\n

The magazine is, basically, what the title suggests, but there’s humor running throughout the entire magazine. <\/p>\n

“It’s a commentary on advertising, where you put a beautiful girl next to anything to sell it,” he said. <\/p>\n
