Simon Pegg announced on his MySpace page that Director Greg Mottola (Superbad, Adventureland) will direct Nick Frost and Pegg’s new movie, Paul. This will be the first film the two will star in that isn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t directed by friend and director Edgar Wright.<\/p>\n
Written by Pegg and Frost, Paul is about two British comic book geeks that get into an adventure across America. “Friends” Actor David Schwimmer was originally set to direct the flick.<\/p>\n
In addition to this news, Pegg says that he won’t be able to star in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film Inglorious Bastards as was previously reported. <\/p>\n
“Much to our mutual disappointment, I won’t be appearing in QT’s forthcoming ‘Inglorious Bastards’ due to insurmountable scheduling difficulties,” he said. “We really tried to make it work but in the end, it just was not possible without severe ramifications elsewhere. I’m trying to remain upbeat, as Tom Selleck said ‘Who the hell is Indiana Jones anyway?'”<\/p>\n
Movie website Ain’t It Cool News says that former “Freaks and Geeks” star Samm Levine will play one of Brad Pitt’s sidekicks in Inglorious Bastards and “Numb3rs” star David Krumholtz won’t be joining the film after all.<\/p>\n
Pegg’s new film How to Lose Friends and Alienate People hits theaters October 3rd, 2008.<\/p>\n
