“The Dictator” is coming to theaters soon, and Sacha Baron Cohen has put on his latest persona, General Aladeen (clearly based on dictators like Gaddafi) for the film’s Super Bowl commercial. You can view the spot below the post. <\/p>\n
Also released is the site for the Republic of Wadiya, the country over which General Aladeen rules. You can visit the English version<\/a> of the website here. Its zany, for sure. <\/p>\n The film, according to IMDB, is “[t]he heroic story of a dictator who risks his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.” <\/p>\n “The Dictator,” directed by Larry Charles, also stars Bobby Lee, Kevin Corrigan, Anna Faris, Ben Kingsley, John C. Reilly, B.J. Novak, J.B. Smoove and Aasif Mandvi. The film comes to theaters May 11, 2012. <\/p>\n I’m not completely sure, but it would seem that “The Dictator” won’t have any of the “candid camera”-type stuff Baron Cohen’s other films have had.
