I guess they just ran out of money.&#8221; However, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cinemablend.com\/new\/Goon-Movie-Dead-Still-Looking-Financing-29084.html\">CinemaBlend<\/a> has posted an update on &#8220;The Goon,&#8221; and it appears that Giamatti put his foot in his mouth. <\/p>\n<p>According to the update, Powell went to his website to tell the truth about the fate of the movie. According to Powell, the film is still in development and David Fincher and Blur Studios are still in the process of looking financial backing. Powell said the movie never had to run out of money because they didn&#8217;t have any money in the first place. <\/p>\n<p>Giamatti sent an email to Powell apologizing for what he told IFC. Powell wrote, &#8220;I just got an email from Giamatti saying he feels like a douche that this became a topic. He did say that he facetiously muttered, &#8216;Maybe they can&#8217;t get the money,&#8217; but never said anything about money drying up.
