<\/p>\nIn the wake of the recently released official trailer for the film, some are speculating that the live-action adaptation of “Dragonball”, the hit Japanese manga and anime, is going back for reshoots due to overwhelmingly mixed and outright negative criticism from the online media and fan community. <\/p>\n
“Dragon Ball” premiered in print manga form in 1984, in the magazine Weekly SHonen Jump. It is the story of the young boy Goku and his martial-arts and fantasy adventures, all stemming from people seeking the powerful wish-granting Dragon Balls. <\/p>\n
Starring Justin Chatwick as the protagonist Goku, James Marsters as the villain Lord Piccolo, Chow-Yun Fat as Roshi, and Emmy Rossum as Bulma, the movie follows Goku and Bulma seek out Master Roshi, a friend of Goku\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s grandfather, and search for the mysterious Dragon Balls, gems that can summon the all-power wish-granting dragon Shenron, while making sure the villainous Piccolo doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t get his chance to summon the dragon to fulfill his own dark desires. Goku is aided by various allies through his adventure to collect the Dragon Balls and defeat Piccolo. <\/p>\n
Starting October 30th, reshoots will be starting up and the production is seeking Tibetan-speaking and Nepalese-speaking actors. What this reshoot will do to the planned release date of the movie, distributed by 20th Century Fox, is unsure, but the scheduled release is for April 3rd, 2009. <\/p>\n
