<\/p>\nThe long-awaited sequel to the cult hit “The Boondock Saints” has finally started filming in Toronto. Production on the film officially started last week on “The Boondock Saints: All Saints Day”, according to the Financial Post.<\/p>\n

The movie will be bringing back the Connor and Murphy MacManus (Sean Patrick Flannery and Norman Reedus), the God-inspired vigilante brothers from the controversial underground sensation of 1999, written and directed by Troy Duffy. The original film features the two, initially meat factory workers, take on the various Russian and Italin mobs that are trying to take over their neighborhood. Believing that they are guided by a dream from God, they all the while garner the support of their community and the ire of the FBI and local law enforcement.<\/p>\n
Duffy will be writing and directing the sequel, which will also star Billy Connolly as the brothers’ assassin father “Il Duce”, and will take place ten years after the first film. <\/p>\n
On October 29th Duffy revealed that Julie Benz (TV’s “Dexter”) will be leading the cast as a female law enforcement agent and the former prot\u00c3\u00a9g\u00c3\u00a9 of Agent Paul Smecker (Willem Dafoe), the FBI agent who becomes their supporter and ally, from the first film.<\/p>\n
