However, I think it was obvious that the critics weren&#8217;t going to like it. <\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/american_reunion_2012\/\">Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, the critics gave the film a 44%, whereas the audience gave it a whopping 81%. The overall consensus is that while the film will provide nostalgia, it won&#8217;t provide much more. Check out what some critics had to say:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For the most part, however, this fourth installment is recycling familiar material, only without the chuckles and guffaws. Helmed by the &#8216;Harold and Kumar&#8217; guys, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, <em>American Reunion<\/em> tries to use nudity, sex, and fecal matter to generate laughter, but the jokes are tired and predictable. This is a joyless experience made all the sadder because most viewers still remember the naughty delights delivered by &#8216;American Pie.'&#8221;&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reelviews.net\/php_review_template.php?identifier=2448\">James Berardinelli, ReelViews<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yes, &#8216;American Reunion&#8217;is a juvenile outing. They steal jet skis and defecate in beer coolers. They cheat on their girlfriends and lie to their best friends. But what did you expect?&#8221;&#8211;Ricardo Baca, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/movies\/ci_20327755\/american-reunion-saved-by-stifler-but-did-they\">Denver Post<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;None of it makes much of an impression, although there are a few nice and surprisingly heartfelt moments around the edges.&#8221;&#8211;Stephen Whitty, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nj.com\/entertainment\/movies\/index.ssf\/2012\/04\/american_reunion_review.html\">Newark Star-Ledger<\/a><\/p>\n<p>What do you think?
