Filmmakers Jon Avnet and Rodrigo Garcia have joined together to launch the new digital channel WIGS, which features original, scripted dramatic series and short films about the lives of women. The first trailers for the channel and its series are featured on its YouTube page<\/a> and official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Besides series and short films, WIGS will also feature documentaries, behind-the-scenes videos that all star female leads. The first series for the channel is ‘Jan,’ which was written and directed by Avnet, and debuts on May 14. The cast includes Virginia Madsen, Stephen Moyer and Laura Spencer. WIGS’ first short film is ‘Serena,’ which was written and directed by Garcia, and stars Jennifer Garner and Alfred Molina.<\/p>\n

“WIGS offers our writer, director and actor colleagues an enormous amount of freedom to tell stories they they connect with intimately,” Avnet said. Garcia added that “the shows are fun, comedic at times, moving at others, and always entertaining.”<\/p>\n
