George Zimmerman was booked into a central Florida jail just two days after his bond revoked, the Atlanta Journal Constitution<\/a> is reporting. The former neighborhood watch volunteer who’s charged with the murder of Trayvon Martin returned to jail after he surrendered to police yesterday.<\/p>\n

Zimmerman’s legal team tweeted the news today that he was back in police custody. Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester revoked his bond, saying he and his wife lied to the court in April about their finances so he could obtain a lower bond.<\/p>\n

Seminole County Sheriff Donald Eslinger said Zimmerman, who is being held without bond, turned himself in to two sheriff’s office employees this afternoon near the jail. He was driven to the jail, and didn’t answer reporters’ questions. Eslier said at a press conference that Zimmerman was being quiet and cooperative.<\/p>\n

The sheriff’s office added that Zimmerman will be separated from the general population. He’ll be in a cell by himself, due to the high-profile of the case.<\/p>\n

Zimmerman’s bond was revoked because he told the judge at his bond hearing that he had limited money. However, he raised about $135,000 through a website set up for his legal defense. While his defense attorneys said the matter is a misunderstanding, the judge said he’ll schedule a hearing so that Zimmerman can explain himself.<\/p>\n
