No new director has been announced yet though producer Neil Moritz and Columbia Studios are setting up to find one and hope to maintain their timeline of starting shooting the action-comedy in the spring. <\/p>\n
Though he will still be starring alongside “Knocked Up” and “Zach and Miri Make a Porno” star Seth Rogen as the black-clad Kato to Rogen’s take on the masked green-clad avenger in a trench coat, based on the character, created in the 1930’s as a character in a radio serial that has gone onto various other adaptations, Chow has stepped down from directing the movie, which is still in early production, due to what the magazine is calling “creative differences”, after signing on back in September of 2008. <\/p>\n
“The Green Hornet”, which has a tentative 2010 release date, was written by Rogen along with Evan Goldberg. It will be the latest adaptation of George W. Trendle and and Fran Striker’s character, with Rogen as the titular character and Chow as his sidekick and driver Kato, a role originally made famous thanks to Bruce Lee’s portrayal in the 1960’s TV show.<\/p>\n
