Things seem to finally be working out for that \u201cKick-Ass\u201d sequel, as at the end of May, word got out that Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse were all in negotiations to return. No word on the state of production since then, but according Lyndsy Fonseca who played Katie Deauxma in the original, the filmmakers want her to shoot \u201cKick-Ass 2\u201d this year.<\/p>\n
While talking \u201cNikita\u201d and San Diego Comic Con, Fonseca drove my TV vs. film question straight into \u201cKick-Ass 2\u201d territory. Fonseca is absolutely thrilled with the opportunity to make another \u201cKick-Ass,\u201d but crossed her fingers and said, \u201cI just pray that it all works out!\u201d Fortunately the folks behind \u201cKick-Ass 2\u201d are aware of her \u201cNikita\u201d shooting schedule so Fonseca noted, \u201cIt\u2019s not gonna be, you know, a month of work because I can\u2019t do it, but I\u2019ll be able to do at least something, which is very kind of them.\u201d<\/p>\n
After singing her co-stars\u2019 praises, Fonseca confirmed she has seen what she believes is the latest version of the script and says the sequel\u2019s story is \u201cgreat.\u201d She explained, \u201cIt actually plays really well with how Chloe has kind of grown up a little bit, but she\u2019s not yet a young woman.\u201d As for Katie\u2019s presence in the film, unfortunately, Fonseca\u2019s role won\u2019t be much bigger than the first time around. \u201cShe\u2019s just in the beginning, so far.\u201d Fonseca added, \u201cI\u2019m just happy to be involved, but, you know, she\u2019s still the strange Katie, somewhat girl next-door, but yet has strange drug addict boyfriends who works in the needle exchange.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fonseca also informed us that she\u2019s got plans to meet with the director taking over for Matthew Vaughn, Jeff Wadlow, before shooting begins.<\/p>\n
