Based on the classic television series by Sid and Marty Krofft that has since gone on to become a cult classic, “Land of the Lost” is about a washed-up scientist, his research assistant, and a “redneck survivalist”, who end up transported into another world where ancient dinosaurs, cavemen, and mysterious reptile men known as Sleestak, rule, and the protagonists must find a way back to the regular world. <\/p>\n
“Land Of The Lost” was initially a children’s TV created and produced by Sid and Marty Krofft, and originally ran on NBC. It was about a father and his two children who end up stranded in a mysterious alternate world that appeared similar to prehistoric Earth, and their struggles to survive, explore the mysteries of the land, and try to find a way home. <\/p>\n
Available on DVD, it has since gone onto become a cult classic to its fandom, and was known for its surprisingly dark tone and then-cutting special effects. Krofft Productions remade the series in 1991. <\/p>\n
“Land Of The Lost” hits theaters on June 5, 2009.<\/p>\n
