Smuggler Films has acquired the rights to remake the 2009 French thriller film “Rapt,” which was about the 1978 kidnapping of French CEO and heir to the Empain Schneider Dynasty, Baron Edouard-Jean Empain. Smuggler’s version is tentatively titled “Abduction.” “Rapt” was released in France this past fall, and was nominated for a Cesar Award for best picture.
