Ken Hensley and Live Fire

Album Review: Ken Hensley and Live Fire Tackle Rock In More Ways Than One

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

The album may have dropped a little while back, but it is just too classic to not inform you Shockya readers about. You should insert rock after classic because this album is from the former Uriah Heep member, Ken Hensley. The keyboard player, Hammond organ player, guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer joined forces with Norway’s Live Fire in 2006 and recorded the album, “Faster”, over a three-week period in Riga, Latvia. The 12 track album dropped June 21st via Eagle Rock Entertainment. Hence, the “while back”, but good music is good music and deserves to be reviewed. Hensley’s music background is rooted in a time period where rock was evolving…

The Chronicles of Narnia Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Box Office Forecast: The Chronicles Of Narnia Expected To Easily Secure The Top Spot

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

This weekend is The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’s weekend to lose. The third installment of the series has a major leg up, hitting almost 800 more theaters than its competition, The Tourist. While The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is quite the expansive project and Fox is hoping for some big returns, there’s certainly a chance this could be Prince Caspian all over again. On a $225 million budget, Caspian managed to make $55 million opening weekend, but then fell fast, only accumulating $141.6 million by the end of its domestic run, significantly less than its predecessor, which ended up with a total of $291.7…

Harry Potter

Box Office Forecast: Can Harry Potter Hold On In Week Three?

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

A new month might not mean a new box office leader. With The Warrior’s Way being the only wide release this first weekend in December, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I could be able to hold on to that top spot. It did seem Tangled had a fair shot of stealing that stop, but even with that second-week 60% plunge, Potter not only took Thanksgiving weekend from Tangled, but every day since then. Even on HSX.com, Potter stock is up $0.40 while Tangled is on the downfall, dropping $0.79. It’s basically a free-for-all for the rest of the lot. Hitting just 1,622 theaters with little buzz, it’s unlikely…

Title: Faster Directed by: George Tillman Jr. (Notorious, Soul Food) Starring: Dwayne Johnson (The Fast and the Furious 5, The Other Guys), Tom Berenger (Inception, Silent Venom), Carla Gugino (Race to Witch Mountain, Watchmen), Micaela Johnson (Transformers 3, Greek), Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter, Quarantine), Billy Bob Thornton, Moon Bloodgood and Maggie Grace (Knight and Day). As Americans reflect on all of the good in their lives during the Thanksgiving weekend, some people don’t have the luxury of appreciating the good in life. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part I

Box Office Forecast: Moviegoers Are Most Thankful For Harry Potter

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

The extra long holiday weekend isn’t only good for getting you some time off from work or school, it’s also a fantastic opportunity for the movie industry to make a killing at the box office. As much as we’d like to spread the holiday cheer, we can’t give thanks to every film in the competition, so some will inevitably be left eating table scraps. Now that the Wednesday numbers are in, that’s clearly not the case with last weekend’s big winner, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I. After a massive $125 million week one opening, the franchise’s seventh installment kicked off its second weekend strong with a $14.5…
