Writers Tapped To Adapt Uncharted Video Game

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Columbia has tapped Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer (“Sahara”, “Dead Of Night”, “Cowboys & Aliens”) to script the adaptation of the hit video game “Uncharted: Drake Fortune” for the big screen. Charles Roven, Ari Arad and Alex Gartner are all attached to produce. So far no director has been announced. The “Uncharted” video game, which was release in 2007 from Sony, follows a treasure hunter named Nate Drake, a descendant of famous explorer Sir Francis Drake. Ghost In The Shell Adaptation Gets Screenwriter

According to a report from Variety.com, DreamWorks Pictures has hired Laeta Kalogridis (“Shutter Island”) to write the long-rumored live-action English adaptation of the famous Japanese manga “Ghost in the Shell”. Ari Arad and Steven Paul of Seaside Entertainment are attached to produce the 3D live-action project, which is set in a futuristic Japanese city and the cybernetic covert ops team that specialize in combating technology-related crimes. Created by Masamune Shirow, “Ghost in the Shell” was first published in 1989 and has since gone onto generate two more manga series, a long-running anime TV series, and three animated movies.
