Los Angeles Film Critics Association Announce The LAFCA's 2011 Award Winners

Brent Simon, President of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA), announced the award winners for the LAFCA’s 2011 awards. The Best Picture of the Year honor was given to “The Descendants,” with the runner-up being “The Tree of Life”. According to the release, director Alexander Payne’s win for “The Descendants” represents his seventh award from LAFCA. Poster And Trailer For Coriolanus Featuring Ralph Fiennes and Gerard Butler Released

A new poster and trailer for the history drama ‘Coriolanus’, featuring Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter) and Gerald Butler (The Bounty Hunter) nose to nose, has made its way the web. Released by The Weinstein Company, the film is due in theaters this year on December 2nd, 2011 and marks seasoned performer Ralph Fiennes’ debut as a director. An adaption of a William Shakespeare piece by the same name, the script was penned by ‘Gladiator’ writer John Logan. Gerard Butler Joins Coriolanus

Gerard Butler, according to The Hollywood Reporter, has joined the cast of Ralph Fiennes’ directorial debut, an adaptation of the Shakespeare tragedy “Coriolanus.” He joins William Hurt, Vanessa Redgrave, Eddie Marsan, and Jessica Chastain. Butler has signed on to star opposite Fiennes in the Rome-set political and family drama about the rise and fall of a war hero turned political future. Shakespeare’s “Coriolanus” debuted in 1608 and is based on the life of Gaius Marcius Coriolanus, a legendary Roman general from the 5th century BC.
