Movie News Cheat Sheet: Images Galore Courtesy Of John Carter, The Dark Knight Rises And Prometheus

Sunday, November 27th, 2011

As usual, this Movie News Cheat Sheet is packed with text, but this week, much of that text is geared towards describing the slew of brand new stills that dropped over the past seven days. Not only did we get seven new images from John Carter, but a bunch from The Dark Knight Rises and Prometheus, too. In casting news, word just got out that Gary Oldman turned down the part of The Colonel in Akira and, in rather off-beat casting news, the industry is shocked to learn that a casting associate on Super 8 as well as a number of other child actor-heavy productions is a registered sex offender….

Lionsgate gives Hunger Games…

“Toy Story” is probably one of the most beloved animated films of all time, and so I’m sure there are some people out there who would, if they could, have an entire closet of clothes dedicated to Woody and the gang. Now, thanks to Bossini, that dream can come true. Bossini, a fashion line based in Hong Kong-based, has debuted an entire line of clothing featuring the “Toy Story” characters, as reported by The Huffington Post. Some items from the line include a poncho with a cartoony rope pattern, a Jessie-style hat, and a graphic-designed “Little Green Man” dress. There’s clothing options for women, men, and children, so there’s something…

Down: The Sequel To Pixar's UP No One Wants To See

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

There are many people who create seriously awesome fan work for Pixar movies, but here’s something that’s simultaneously awesome and terribly sad. Pixar’s Lee Unkrich tweeted this twitpic of a fan poster for an idea for a sequel to the film “Up.” The poster, called “Down” (seen below), shows characters Dug, Kevin and Russell sad, mourning the loss of Carl Fredericksen. I think you get the idea. Unkrich tweeted along with the picture, “And you thought ‘Up’ made you cry…” Actually, I wondered if they were going to show Carl’s funeral at the end of “Up” anyway, since they showed the montage of the time he spent with his wife,…

The big story is that there’s an untitled Disney/Pixar film that will be released May 30, 2014. According to Spill, rumors are circling that say that the movie might be a Pete Docter-directed film…

John Lasseter hints at Toy Story 4

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

Pixar seems to be on a roll with sequels now. During last week’s “BBC Breakfast,” Pixar head John Lasseter was asked about Tom Hanks’ assertions that a “Toy Story 4″ was in the works. Hanks, who was on “BBC Breakfast” last month, claimed that Pixar has given the go-ahead to a “Toy Story 4″ idea. He also said t again on HLN’s “Showbiz Tonight,” saying, “I understand it’s happening, and if it is, I hope they’ll hire me.” Lasseter said in response to questions about another “Toy Story” film, “I found [Hanks' comments] interesting too…Yeah, it’s really interesting! We haven’t announced anything yet.” The way in which he said it–and…
