‘Super-Man’ franchise producer Laura Ziskin lost her battle with breast cancer on June 12, 2011 at the age of 61, E!Online is reporting. Ziskin, who also co-founded Stand Up 2 Cancer (SU2C), died in her sleep in Santa Monica. The ‘Pretty Woman’ producer received a Stage 3 diagnosis in 2004, and then went on to co-found SU2C. She produced several televised fundraisers for the foundation in recent years. Former 1980s teen star C. Thomas Howell has been cast in the Spider-Man reboot, according to ScreenCrave and Entertainment Weekly. Howell has been cast as a character named “Ray”. While there hasn’t been any officially word as to what Ray will do or how he will fit into the overall story of the film, there is a character in the comic book named Ray Cooper, the late father of Peter Parker’s current girlfriend in the comics, Carlie. Today Marvel Comics launched the Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited archive online. For $4.99 per month Marvel users will have unlimited access to thousands of digitally remastered comics online. From the service you will be able to read the first issues of many popular comics, such as the first original run of The X-men, issues 1-100 of the Amazing Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk and issues 1-100 of The Fantastic Four.
