Variety.com reports today that the Cannes Film Festival has reportedly banned the screening of “Last Looks” by Director Rick Brown. The film was quarantined by French customs officials when they found out that the film contained actual footage of the deaths of cast and crew from the low-budget independent horror film “The Evil Eye”.

“The Evil Eye” director Zack Freedman, cinematographer Scott Maher and sound technician Ryan Denmark were all killed during a staged explosion on a small boat. Malaysian born actress Ying-Yu Tan, and French actress Verane Pick were also killed in unrelated accidents. The survivors of the production crew fled the country.

Should Rick Brown be able to screen his film “Last Looks”? The folks over at Horror-no.com don’t think so.
