It’s a busy week on ITV3, and we’ve sifted through the schedule to bring you the sharpest picks. From a detective thriller that will keep you guessing to a nostalgic soap that never stops delivering drama, there’s something for everyone.
Monday 5 Oct – The Mystery Begins
08:15 – 10:30 Inspector Morse – S4 Ep1 “The Infernal Serpent” (2026‑10‑05, Monday). A scientist’s murder sets the stage for a hunt that’s as cerebral as it is thrilling. Opinion: Morse’s world‑class intellect makes this a reliable start to the week; the plot twists are subtle, not over‑the‑top.
10:30 – 11:35 Heartbeat – S15 Ep4 “Mastermind”. A community bus trip turns into a crime spree. Opinion: The series still entertains with its familiar village charm, though the pacing can feel a touch predictable.
Tuesday 6 Oct – Classic Comfort
06:05 – 06:35 Classic Emmerdale (multiple episodes). The village’s newest drama: a pregnancy, a custody battle, and a sudden crisis. Opinion: The familiar faces make it a one‑of‑the‑better options for fans craving continuity.
07:05 – 07:40 Classic Coronation Street. New tensions flare in the streets of Weatherfield. Opinion: Still reliable entertainment for those who love the long‑running soap.
Wednesday 7 Oct – Rural Drama
05:00 – 06:05 Wild at Heart – S3 Ep5. A white lion’s arrival changes the family’s fortunes. Opinion: The wildlife angle offers a unique twist to traditional family drama.
21:00 – 22:00 Downton Abbey – S3 Ep5. A new offer for Edith creates intrigue. Opinion: The period setting remains charming, though the storyline feels a little slower.
Thursday 8 Oct – Crime & Comedy
19:00 – 21:00 Midsomer Murders – S8 Ep3 “Orchis Fatalis”. A rare orchid sparks jealousy and murder. Opinion: The village mystery remains a well‑crafted, one‑of‑the‑better options for fans of quaint crime.
21:00 – 22:30 Downton Abbey – S3 Ep8. A cricket match reveals hidden tensions. Opinion: The episode keeps the charm alive but offers less in fresh conflict.
Friday 9 Oct – Suspenseful Nights
19:00 – 21:00 Vera – S10 Ep4 “The Escape Turn”. A wealthy magnate’s murder. Opinion: Vera’s gritty approach remains one of the better options for thriller lovers.
21:00 – 22:55 Downton Abbey – Special Episode. A feature‑length adventure. Opinion: The extended format gives a fresh feel, though the pacing can feel uneven.
Saturday 10 Oct – Light‑Hearted Break
01:00 – 01:25 George and Mildred – S1 Ep3 “…And Women Must Weep”. A domestic sitcom spin‑off. Opinion: The humor is nostalgic but may feel dated for younger viewers.
20:00 – 21:00 Doc Martin – S1 Ep1 “Going Bodmin”. A surgeon turned GP in a sleepy hamlet. Opinion: The quirky setting provides a reliable, light‑hearted break.
Sunday 11 Oct – Family & Mystery
10:30 – 11:35 Downton Abbey – S3 Ep5. The village drama continues. Opinion: The period drama remains a reliable choice for family viewing.
21:10 – 23:00 Vera – S10 Ep4 “The Escape Turn”. Another intriguing murder case. Opinion: The crime series stays one of the better options for those who enjoy a good mystery.
