5USA Weekend Lineup: NCIS Thrills, Blue Bloods Drama & Classic Columbo Mysteries
If you’re looking for solid TV that won’t let you down, 5USA’s schedule this weekend packs a punch. The network offers a mix of crime‑solving, procedural drama and nostalgic detective work that will satisfy a range of tastes. Below is a quick rundown of the key shows, why they’re worth a watch, and who should tune in.
NCIS: Los Angeles – The Season Finale Marathon
From 09:10 to 22:00 on Saturday, the LA squad tackles a week‑long saga that culminates in a full‑season finale. The plot threads—torture by a mole, con artists preying on the elderly, and a looming kidnapping—keep the stakes high without feeling over‑the‑top. It’s the kind of procedural that balances procedural grit with personal stakes, making it a strong pick for anyone who enjoys a steady rhythm of crime‑solving.
Opinion: The finale arc is a solid, reliable payoff for long‑time fans; even casual viewers will find the pacing easy to follow.
Blue Bloods – Family‑Law Dissection
Blue Bloods occupies the 11:00–14:55 slot, delivering a week of courtroom‑driven drama that explores the balance between duty and family. Each episode tackles a different moral dilemma, from self‑defence shootings to whistleblowing within the NYPD. The show stays grounded with its focus on law‑and‑order ethics rather than sensationalism.
Opinion: The series holds up well as a family‑friendly drama that still offers enough intrigue for adult viewers.
Columbo – The Golden Era Re‑Run Marathon
From 13:15 on Saturday through 22:05 on Sunday, 5USA takes you back to the 1970s with a lineup of Columbo classics: Undercover, A Stitch in Crime, Murder Under Glass, Now You See Him and Any Old Port in a Storm. Each episode is a self‑contained mystery that rewards careful viewing with a satisfying twist.
Opinion: The episodes are still entertaining, offering a nostalgic break from the more modern procedural fare.
