- Recap: Project Runway All-Stars, Episode Four
- This week on “Project Runway All-Stars,” the contestants had to make garments based on gelato flavors. However, that wasn’t the only catch. The contestants also had to make the garments in only six hours. That type of a task sounds virtually impossible, but the show is designed to test these all-stars, so this was really a “separate the wheat from the chaff” type of moment. Of course, the contestants were pushed to the limit in both their emotional state and execution. The strain caused quite a few of the designers to produce flaws that normally wouldn’t happen if they had the proper amount of time, such as April’s purple party...
- Tom Six On The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) And Future Projects
- Consider me, Monique Jones, a novice when it comes to horror. I honestly didn’t know what I was expecting when I started watching the uncut version “The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence” during the live chat event on Facebook, but now, after having seen the film for myself (well, most of it before I had to turn away due to my gag reflex), I can see why this film was banned in the UK. The “mastermind,” if you will, behind this film as well as its predecessor is Tom Six. Six chatted with fans during the screening of the uncut film, and not only answered some questions about the making...
- Interview: Ami Canaan Mann On Directing Texas Killing Fields
- The first thing that drew Ami Canaan Mann to the film “Texas Killing Fields” wasn’t the script. “The thing that really drew me was the research material that came along with the script,” she said. The research expounded on the script, which is based on the real-life string of murders that happened in the 1970 through the 1990s along I-45, near League City, TX (according to Mann, the murders happened in Texas City, which is 30 minutes south of Houston). When Mann finally read the script, written by Don Ferrarone, she was just as affected. “It had such a visceral quality,” she said. By the time she had read the...

- Seth Rogen Talks 50/50 And The Academy Award Nominations
- Actor and producer Seth Rogen says he isn’t surprised by his movie 50/50′s lack of Academy Award nominations. For those that don’t remember 50/50, the movie stars Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Hilarious, but serious, the drama centers on Rogen’s friend and his battle with cancer. With funny scenes of shaving heads and picking up girls in the hopes that his sick friend would get lucky, Rogen defended his movie’s take on cancer, and the humor in the film that he says appalled some people. “You see movies where people who have cancer never talk about it. But we found it to be the exact opposite. It was all we talked...

A source told the site that Marvel “will have staff in Wilmington as early as mid-March,” and shooting could start either the last week of April or the first week of May. However, ComicBookMovie wants people to know that the sources’ reports could be...

- Box Office Predictions: It's No Taken, But Liam Neeson's The Grey Comes Out On Top
- What’s with all the action films lately? Two weekends ago it was Contraband, then Haywire, Red Tails and Underworld: Awakening and now we’re getting The Grey, Man on a Ledge and One for the Money. Lucky for One for the Money, even though it’s being billed as an action comedy, it’s Katherine Heigl’s face on all the posters, so it should fill the long vacant romantic comedy slot. However, it is only hitting 2,737 theaters, which gives the other newcomers, The Grey and Man on a Ledge a bit of an edge. Unfortunately, this won’t be a 27 Dresses-sized opening for Heigl, rather more along the lines of Leap Year...

- Man on a Ledge Movie Review
- Title: Man on a Ledge Director: Asger Leth Starring: Sam Worthington, Elizabeth Banks, Jamie Bell, Genesis Rodriguez, Anthony Mackie, Edward Burns, Ed Harris, Titus Welliver It’s a decent idea; Man on a Ledge. Now what can we do with this? Best guess is that this discussion went on all the way through shooting, because after taking in the 102 minutes, the only thing creative and truly engaging is in fact, the man on the ledge. Sam Worthington makes the most of his predominantly statuesque role. The guy is standing on a twenty-to-thirty story ledge of a plush hotel in New York City. A crowd (spectators and first-response teams) form around...

Far East Movement Puts The Jiggle In Jello
The recipe to make a successful party song doesn’t consist of a laundry list of ingredients. You should take a listen to LMFAO’s slew of hit singles to understand the simplicity of it. Despite the few track requirements, there are handfuls of party tunes that fail to accomplish the dapper duo’s mastery. Whether it be an unimpressive hook, unmemorable beats or choppy verses, these lackluster tracks are far from contagious. LMFAO triumphed over the competition in 2011, but Far East Movement may surpass the party kings in 2012 with their new single, “Jello”, featuring Rye Rye. The Los Angeles electro-hip hop group just released the official music video for “Jello”....

Hop on Board with Volbeat's Music Video for 16 Dollars
Volbeat’s music video for “16 Dollars” resides ideally in the realm of the afterlife, either beyond hell, above heaven or somewhere between the two.
The video features a skull rider, who was just released from a state prison riding through the streets. More stimulating than the appearance of the actual rider is the images of the ominous night that engulfs him, which were created by Plasticikid. With a bit of help from computer graphics, the use of a blue-screen and the use of human beings, this music video captures both fictional and non-fictional scenes, causing a viewer to speculate if the rider is in fact dead or alive? That [...]
Interview: Slutever Can't Be Stopped
The second most significant step a band must take in achieving musical fame is choosing a catchy band name that will be well received and well remembered by an audience. The first step, which should be pretty obvious to all you music fans, is recording original tunes that will bring immediate attention to an up and coming group. To accomplish both of these tasks lays down a solid foundation of pavement for a band that is just beginning their journey. So, congratulations Slutever, your path is fresh and we can foresee several more layers of cement to be poured down in your future.
We have introduced this duo once before, [...]
Scala Powers Into America
Rock and choir are two words not typically placed side by side. After hearing the sounds of Scala, rock choir should be said more often.
The Belgian singing group includes over 200 women between the ages of 16 and 26 who are led by the classically trained Kolacny brothers, Steven and Stijn. The rock choir has become an international phenomenon and is brining their tunes to America with their self-titled U.S. debut.
Listeners can preview the album’s tracks via a widget. Versions of Radiohead’s “Creep,” the Foo Fighter’s “Everlong” and U2’s “With or Without You” can be heard on the widget. Fans can also see the band’s video [...]

Unwritten Law knows how to survive in the music industry. They stick to Darwin’s laws of evolution. The geek in all of us has to eventually come out. We chose now. The California quartet’s unique musical variations and their highly impressive adaption skills keep them afloat in a world, where outdated bands sink after a hit.
The resilient band has been signed to five different labels and experienced drug and alcohol addiction, but they still manage to churn out album after album and reprise their former glory, before trouble comes creeping back in.
Vocalist, Scott Russo, guitarist, Steve Morris, bassist, Pat “PK” Kim and drummer, Dylan Howard have created an [...]

Jennifer Lopez talks about the judges' save
People Online has an interview “American Idol” host/radio personality Ryan Seacrest did with “Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez about the “Idol” judges save last Wednesday, which saved contestant Casey Abrams from the will of America to send him home.
Lopez said on Seacret’s radio show that she knew the decision to save Abrams would be seen as “radical”. “It was crazy. And we knew that it was kind of a radical decision because it was so early in the season,” she said.
She also went on to say that she’s doubted other decisions she and her fellow judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler have made on the show, but all doubts [...]

The webisode features the making of the track and explains the meaning behind the tune as well.

Giveaway Winner: Expanded Edition for Pearl Jam's VS.
We are drawing to a close on the contest to win an expanded edition of Pearl Jam’s legendary album, “VS.” The three-CD Pearl Jam set commemorates the band’s 20th anniversary and one lucky winner is now the owner of this celebratory edition.
We left this contest pretty open, since it is a bit difficult to ask a specific question of a band that has had such a vast impact on the world of music. You had the opportunity to tell us why you think Pearl Jam’s album, “VS.”, garnered such success. We read those responses thoroughly and thought J.A.’s response hit the nail on the head. ClichĂ©, but the [...]
Scream 4 Soundtrack Available To Pre-Order
With two more weeks to go until Ghostface makes his return to the big screen, the promotional material continues to pour in. Not only do we have four new photos, but information on the Scream 4 soundtrack, too.
First up, the stills. Clearly there’s going to be some romantic tension between Rory Culkin and Hayden Panettiere’s character or perhaps just a little teasing on Panettiere’s part as Culkin looks a little more in-the-moment in this first image. Second we’ve got a shot of Courteney Cox looking as though she’s attempting to evade the killer in that barn scene. There’s also a shot of Emma Roberts and Scream 4’s Billy Loomis lookalike, [...]
Arnold Schwarznegger to star as The Governator
First there was “Stripperella”, and now there’s “The Governator”. Yes, true believers, Stan Lee, the genius behind the “Spider-Man” comic book and “Stripperella” is launching a new cartoon called, of course, “The Governator” starring who else but the Governator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The cartoon, which is expected to be out next year, is supposed to be a combination of all the things that makes Schwarznenegger a movie hero. “The word Governator combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world. And [this cartoon] brings everything together,” said Schwarzenegger to Entertainment Weekly. “It combines the governor, the Terminator, the bodybuilding world, the True Lies….”
The show will be, [...]
First glimpse of Adrianne Palicki in action as Wonder Woman
CinemaBlend has posted video and pictures of Adrianne Palicki during the filming of the show “Wonder Woman”. The pictures, originally posted at Bleeding Cool and Coming Soon, show Adrianne in action poses and doing behind-the-scenes stuff.
Both the video and pictures show that some serious alterations have been made to the Wonder Woman suit since the last time we saw it, which was in that official press picture. Perhaps someone read the blogosphere’s reaction to the suit, since the pants are now toned down and done in an actual stretchy fabric, stars have been placed down the sides of the pant legs, and the boots are now their traditional red [...]

Hanks made the announcement on March 25 when he tweeted the confirmed casting. Neither Hanks or NBC have released official details on what his role will be, or what his episode will be about.

Hanks follows [...]
Fringe Renewed for Fourth Season
‘Fringe’ executive producer J.H. Wyman has confirmed that the cult classic series has been renewed for a fourth season, www.hollywoodreporter.com is reporting. He tweeted the news on March 24, saying “‘Fringe’ was picked up! Thanks Fringedom!”
The news comes after the FOX sci-fi series, which has been picked up for an entire 22-episode season, garnered an all-time series rating low with its last new episode; it pulled in just 3.6 million viewers for the March 18 episode, titled ‘Stowaway,’ a decline of 13 percent from the previous week.
‘Fringe’ has seen a significant decrease since its first season premiered in September 2008. While the show aired on the competitive Thursday night-line up [...]
FX show Lights Out cancelled
Even the show had critical acclaim and, as The Hollywood Reporter writes, “heavy internal support”, FX has decided to cancel the show “Lights Out” after only one season.
The show’s highest point as far as audience turnout was 1.5 million viewers during the pilot. Afterwards, however, the ratings just kept sliding downhill.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the news is far from shocking, seeing how open John Langraf, president FX was to talking about his disappointment. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in early March, Langraf said that the ratings problem with both this show and the recently cancelled
“Terriers” caused him great pain.
Langraf blames the ratings problem for [...]

According to various sources including Entertainment Weekly, Chris Brown has released a statement apologizing for his outburst at “Good Morning America” yesterday.
The apology occurred on BET’s “106 and Park”. “First of all, I want to apologize to anyone who was startled in the office, or anybody who was offended or really looked, and [was] disappointed in my actions,…because I’m disappointed in my actions.” Brown said. Video of the apology is below.
He stated that he acted out merely to blow off steam concerning a question Robin Roberts asked him about the restraining order Rihanna had against him due to the 2009 assault. After the interview, Brown threw a cooler, [...]

James Franco reacts to Bruce Vilanch's Oscar statements
More Oscar meltdown drama! Yesterday, Shockya reported that Oscar show writer Bruce Vilanch spoke to New York Magazine’s Vulture about what possibly went wrong with James Franco’s hosting performance, citing his busy schedule, possible nerves, and, basically, possibly being in too deep. Well, the other shoe has dropped now; Franco has taken to twitter to express his frustration with Vilanch’s comments.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor took to his Twitter to write: “Bruce, he let me down”, and tweeted a picture of he and Vilanch that he drew over, with the words,”James f—ed up the Oscars! Trust me, I know comedy. I mean, come on, I write for Bette [...]

Sundance 2012 Movie Review: Sleepwalk With Me
Title: Sleepwalk With Me Director: Mike Birbiglia and Seth Barrish Cast: Mike Birbiglia, Lauren Ambrose, Cristin Milioti, Aya Cash, Marylouise Burke, Loudon Wainwright III, James Rebhorn and Carol Kane Mike Birbiglia is a strange breed of comedian. He doesn’t really rely on punchlines and zingers but rather he takes the approach of storytelling. He has a great voice for storytelling, which translates into an engaging experience. His standup shows are hilarious. He’s one of the few alternative comedians that can tell a good story without delivering a lot of laughs. But when those laughs hit, they are full of impact. You can just tell that the stories he’s telling on...
Man on a Ledge Movie Review
Title: Man on a Ledge Summit Entertainment Director: Asger Leth Screenwriter: Pablo F. Fenjves Cast: Elizabeth Banks, Sam Worthington, Jamie Bell, Edward Burns, Kyra Sedgwick, Ed Harris, Anthony Mackie Screened at: AMC Empire, NYC, 1/24/12 Opens: January 27, 2012 As an action-adventure movie, “Man on a Ledge” succeeds only partly: by providing some tension when an ex-cop who has been convicted of the crime of stealing a $40 million diamond goes out on the ledge of New York’s Roosevelt Hotel 25 stories in the air. The trouble is that much of the action–particularly the busy goings-on across the street from which the title man on a ledge wants to distract...
Sundance 2012 Movie Review: Smashed
Title: Smashed Director: James Ponsoldt Cast: Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aaron Paul, Octavia Spencer, Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally, Alcoholism is not a laughing matter. It’s a disease that effects millions of Americans and ruins many more lives. Dealing with this sensitive subject can be tricky but a sure-hand behind the camera can make it work. Sadly, in the newest film from filmmaker James Ponsoldt, “Smashed,” it deals with alcoholism in a quick and easy way, reaching for a strange tonal balance I don’t feel the film pulls off completely. But in saying that, there’s still a lot of good in this movie I can recommend but don’t expect it to...
DVD Review: The Woman
Title: The Woman Director: Lucky McKee (‘The Woods’) Starring: Sean Bridgers (TV’s ‘Deadwood’), Pollyanna McIntosh (‘Offspring’), Angela Bettis (‘Girl, Interrupted,’ TV’s ‘Carrie’) and Lauren Ashley Carter (‘The Prodigies’) People often think their actions benefit everyone, and don’t always think about the consequences will negatively affect those around them. This is one of the main themes in the new horror film ‘The Woman,’ which is now available on DVD. The movie’s director and co-writer, Lucky McKee, bravely showcased the evil and conniving acts of violence seemingly upstanding people take in the privacy of their own home. They enjoy unleashing terror on their innocent neighbors, claiming the torture will benefit them and...
Sundance 2012 Movie Review: Save The Date
Title: Save The Date Director: Michael Mohan Cast: Lizzy Caplin, Alison Brie, Martin Starr, Geoffrey Arend and Mark Webber During the Sundance Film Festival, there are many movies about a group of twenty-somethings coming to grips with their personal, professional or romantic lives, while at the same time trying to hold on to something that is completely child-like. This is a classic trope of movies you’ll find at Sundance. So what separates “Save The Date?” I mean, on the surface it has all of these things but what makes it stand out in my book is a certain level of charisma, sensitivity and sincerity. This wonderful film spouts an all-star...
DVD Review: Chillerama
Title: Chillerama Directed by: Adam Rifkin (Wadzilla), Tim Sullivan (I Was a Teenage Werebear), Adam Green (The Diary of Anne Frankenstein) and Joe Lynch (Zom-B-Movie) Starring: Ray Wise, Lin Shaye, Eric Roberts, Joel David Moore, Sean Paul Lockart, Kristina Klebe, Gabby West, Anton Troy and Richard Riehle Running time: 120 minutes, Unrated Three short films within a film that takes place at the last night at a drive-in movie theatre, where you can get entertained before you get raped by zombies. Wadzilla – Miles Munson is having a problem with his sperm count. His doctor prescribes him an experimental drug named Spermupermine that causes him to have agonizingly painful erections,...
Sundance 2012 Movie Review: Lay The Favorite
Title: Lay The Favorite Director: Stephen Frears Cast: Rebecca Hall, Bruce Willis, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Laura Prepon, Joshua Jackson and Vince Vaughn Finding what you are good at is not always an easy thing. Sometimes people spend most of their lives drifting from place to place just to get a chance to try something they might be good at. But what happens when what you are good at is considered a crime in 49 states, but in one magical state, it’s a bonafide business. I’m talking about Nevada here. Once again, Stephen Frears explores notions of actions, choices and consequences. This time around he delivers a film that is heavy on...
Rampart Movie Review
Title: Rampart Director: Oren Moverman Screenwriter: James Ellroy, Oren Moverman Cast: Woody Harrelson, Robin Wright, Sigourney Weaver, Ice Cube, Ned Beatty, Cynthia Nixon, Anne Heche, Brie Larson Screened at: Review 1, NYC, 1/23/12 Opens: February 10, 2012 There’s really only one reason to see “Rampart, ” but it’s a good enough one–and that’s the awards-worthy performance of Woody Harrelson in the role of a dirty cop. The L.A.-based police drama that may well have been inspired by the Rodney King affair is murky–a downer with a plot that is repetitive, spinning on in a circular way to put us firmly into the mind of the rogue cop, Dave Brown (Woody...
Sundance 2012 Movie Review: Your Sister's Sister
Title: Your Sister’s Sister Director: Lynn Shelton Cast: Emily Blunt, Rosemarie DeWitt, Mark Duplass and Mike Birbiglia The word “mumblecore” gets thrown around a lot in describing a certain genre of movie that are aimed to… how should I put this… a hipster audience. I know, I know, I’m already throwing up bad “buzz” words but I think there’s a greater point here. “Mumblecore” movies reach out to people in their late 20s and early 30s and generally involve characters who mumble through their words or emotions, therefore the label, “mumblecore.” Most of the time, when these “buzz” words are used to describe something, I feel it lessens the impact...
The Grey Movie Review
Title: The Grey Directed By: Joe Carnahan Starring: Liam Neeson, Dermot Mulroney, Frank Grillo, James Badge Dale, Joe Anderson, Nonso Anozie, Dallas Roberts, Ben Bray Liam Neeson and director Joe Carnahan are back together again, but this time around, they’re working with material that’s far less fun than The A-Team. But less fun doesn’t make The Grey a bad movie. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Rather than turn The Grey into an utterly unrealistic survival adventure story, we get something far darker and, while it still has those handful of moments that make you think twice, it completely sells the severity of the situation. Neeson’s Ottway works for a...
Buzz Kill Movie Review
Title: Buzz Kill Director: Steven Kampmann (‘Stealing Home’) Starring: Daniel Raymont (TV’s ‘The Naked Brothers Band,’ ‘Smash’), Krysten Ritter (TV’s ‘Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23′) and Darrell Hammond People sometimes take drastic measure when trying to achieve their dreams, and surprisingly, through twists of fate, the acts can actually pay off. The new independent comedy ‘Buzz Kill,’ directed and co-written by actor Steven Kampmann, amusingly shows the extreme measure people take to carry out their professional goals. While those around down-on-his-luck Ray Wyatt view him as being immature and refusing to grow up, Ray thinks of himself as staying true to his dreams. ‘Buzz Kill’ follows Ray (played...
Sundance 2012 Movie Review: That's What She Said
Title: That’s What She Said Director: Carrie Preston Cast: Anne Heche, Marcia DeBonis, Alia Shawkat From the title alone, one would think that this would be a bad movie. The title entirely cliche, playing off a (somewhat) bad joke from the TV series, “The Office” circa 2005. An almost 7 year joke that was tired as soon as it was in the pop culture discussion. A joke that really only worked when the character Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell) would use it in an almost naive way. But what separates the good way the the joke is used in “The Office” and the title of this movie is that,...
Sundance 2012 Movie Review: Wrong
Title: Wrong Director: Quentin Dupieux Cast: Jack Plotnick, Eric Judor, Alexis Dziena, Steve Little, William Fichtner and Regan Burns Being absurd is almost always taken as a lark or gimmick when applied in movies. It automatically alienates audiences and leaves them uneasy with how the story is delivered. No one ever takes it seriously, but when done right, it can involve audiences, while at the same time giving them a good, heartfelt narrative. In the new film from French experimental filmmaker, Quentin Dupieux, “Wrong” embraces its absurdist nature and never apologizes for telling a story the way the director sees fit. It follows the story of Dolph Springer, a man...
Sundance 2012 Movie Review: For Ellen
Title: For Ellen Director: So Yong Kim Cast: Paul Dano, Jon Heder, Jena Malone and Margarita Levieva Sometimes a film is trying too hard to be interesting and insightful. Sometimes a film is trying too hard to be something else. Sometimes a film is trying too hard to make a point in an engaging way. In the case of the new film by filmmaker So Yong Kim, “For Ellen,” it just tries too hard with a gain a great sense of direction, movement or character, which is something I know the movie is trying too hard to strive for. “For Ellen” follows the story of Joby Taylor (Paul Dano), an...
Sundance 2012 Movie Review: Young & Wild
Title: Young & Wild Director: Marialy Rivas Cast: Alicia RodrĂguez, Aline Kuppenheim, MarĂa Gracia Omegna and Felipe Pinto I feel it’s really a hard (no pun intended) undertaking to accurately portray love and sex in a teenager’s life in movies. Some movies might take a more romantic route, while other’s would take a more “high school comedy” route, but in Chilean filmmaker Marialy Rivas’ new film, “Young & Wild,” shows love and sex in an intimate, albeit hyper, way. The hyperactivity serves as a teenager’s attention span, going from subject to subject in a, would be, random way. As the story unfolds that intimacy endears the audience to the main...
