Freddie Prinze Jr. will star in the pilot episode for ABC’s comedy “No Heroics,” which revolves around four friends who also happen to be B-list superheros.

So far three of the roles have been filled, and will be played by Eliza Coupe (“Scrubs”), Arielle Kebbel (“The Uninvited”) and Paul Campbell (“Battlestar Galactica”). Prinze Jr. will play Bradley, aka Ultimatum, an egotistical, arrogant, and famous superhero with fame, good looks, women, wealth, and endorsement deals, everything that the rest of the heroes in the series don’t.

“No Heroics” first premiered on TV in the United Kingdom in 2008 about a world not unlike ours except for the existence of superpowered heroes everywhere, where they pay taxes, join unions, go to bars, and collect unemployment, just like the rest of us. It went onto become a critical and commercial hit, known for its humor and numerous comic book in-jokes in the background and dialogue. In February ABC announced that they would begin working on a pilot for an American TV adaptation. Drew Pearce, the creator of the original British series, is being joined by “Will and Grace” writer Jeff Greenstein to create the pilot.

For anyone who’s interested in superheroes but who don’t quite have the patience to follow characters for episode upon episode, there are other options that will provide the same humor and excitement. Superhero themed slot machines are just as popular as the tv series and movies are, and the slots are available everywhere on the web. Whether your favorites hail from the Marvel or DC universe, or somewhere else entirely, chances are someone made an online slot machine out of the character.
