MTV has exclusive character videos and footage up for the upcoming “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”. These little featurettes focus on Wolverine/Logan, Victor Creed/Sabretooth, Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Remy LeBeau/Gambit, and John Wraith.
Set roughly twenty years before the first “X-Men” film takes place, the film will focus on Wolverine’s mysterious and violent past, his early encounters with William Stryker,the Weapon X program, and how he gained his adamantium metal-laced bones and claws, his background with Victor Creed aka the mutant Sabretooth, and his first true love Silver Fox.
Wolverine is a Marvel Comics character created in 1974 who has since gone onto become one of the company’s most recognizable characters. A mutant, he was born sometime in the early 19th century with superhuman powers such as an accelerated healing ability, animal-like senses, and retractable claws in his forearms that come out at his knuckles. Much of his past is shrouded in mystery but at one point he was a member of the super-soldier program known as Weapon X, which bonded the unbreakable alloy called adamantium to his bones and claws, as well as brainwashing him and altering his memories.
“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” is in theaters May 1st, 2009.
