Paramount and Sony Pictures have announced the release date for the long-awaited 3-D motion capture feature film “The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn”, directed and produced by Steven Spielberg, and produced by Peter Jackson and Kathleen Kennedy.

The film will be released by Paramount in the U.S. on December 23rd, 2011.

The film stars Jamie Bell as Tintin, a young reporter who constantly gets involved in high-adventure and intrigue in the search of good stories, and Daniel Craig as Red Rackham, the film’s villain. The cast also includes Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Andy Serkis, Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook.
