A very talented mural artist named Rosyln painted this very cool artwork on Melrose inspired by the upcoming fantasy film “Where the Wild Things Are” by director Spike Jonze (Jackass Number Two) and starring Forest Whitaker (The Expendables, Street Kings), Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood), Catherine Keener (Hamlet 2, Capote) and James Gandolfini (The Sopranos).
Synopsis: “Where the Wild Things Are” is an adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s classic children’s story, where Max, a disobedient little boy sent to bed without his supper, creates his own world–a forest inhabited by ferocious wild creatures that crown Max as their ruler.

This mural was not painted by Rosalyn as you noted, although she may have helped on it. Mot likely a girlfriend of one of the artists. This also has nothing to do with the new film. This mural has been there for years. It was actually repainted over a year ago. Prior to that it was a similar mural also based on THE BOOK. This was painted by the PDB graffiti art crew. You can see some of the actual artist names in large graffiti letters – SPURN, RUET, etc.
