Kanye West’s music video for “All of the Lights”, one of the singles from his critically-acclaimed “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”, premiered over the weekend. The premise of the movie is about West’s character, who has gone to jail for abusing the mother of his little girl. When he gets out of jail, he sees that the woman has moved on and is now with another man, whom West fights. The little girl we see at the beginning of the music video plays West’s daughter, who is now fatherless due to West’s actions.

According to Vulture, the music video owes a lot to the film Gaspar Noé’s film “Enter the Void”. According to the site, the extremely colorful, flashing, ultramodern credits to West’s video are highly reminiscent of the credits in “Void”. Also, even though the song has everyone under the song in it–Elton John, Fergie, Alicia Keys, Kid Cudi, The Dream, Tony Williams, Rihanna, John Legend, Charlie Wilson, Ryan Leslie, Elly Jackson–only Kid Cudi and Rihanna were chosen to be the singing guest stars in the video.

The “All of the Lights” video is colorful, bright, brash, and flashy, all of the things you expect from a Kanye West video. You can watch it below and see what you think.
