ComingSoon has released the motion poster of “Conan the Barbarian”. Has there been a motion poster before? I don’t remember seeing one until now. In any event, it’s pretty cool.

In the poster, Conan (Jason Momoa) is standing triumphantly in the wind with this sword, standing on a mountain of skulls (his kills?). The entire poster is bathed in a sepia, creepy tone, with the sunlight peeking out from behind the moving clouds. Eerie, “Conan”-esque music plays in the background.

Overall, the poster is awesome. Even though there’s not much going on the poster, it gives the viewer a lot of information about what the film will look like, what tone it will have, and what to expect from the film in general. Basically, it gives more information than a regular, static 2D poster could give.

“Conan the Barbarian” is a remake of the 1982 action/fantasy film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Earl Jones, Max von Sydow and Mako. The film is an epic tale of a child sold into slavery who grows up into a warrior and goes in search of the man who killed his father and murdered his tribe. Also starring Ron Perlman, Rachel Nichols and Rose McGowan, the reboot will be released August 19, 2011.
