The international poster for the new action film “Columbiana” has been released, according to ComingSoon. The picture shows the star, Zoe Saldana, posing dramatically with her gun. The tag line for the film is “Vengeance is Beautiful”. Seems like that tag line has more to do with Saldana and not the plot; the plot is about a woman who becomes an assassin after seeing her parents murdered when she was a child in Bogota. Her daytime job is as a hitman for her uncle, but her personal time is spent trying to find the mobsters who killed her parents, and, obviously, she’s not afraid to kill to get the answers. As far as posters go, it makes the film look like it could be a late-summer blockbuster; of course, the real verdict will be when the actual film comes to theaters.

The film, which also stars Callum Blue, Cliff Curtis, Michael Vartan, and Jordi Mollà, will be released to theaters September 2, 2011.
