Sadly, Warner Bros., Disney, Dreamworks and Marvel have all apparently opted out of Comic Con 2011, but hey, that means more room for Summit Entertainment. Come July, Summit will be right in the middle of the action and has a hefty schedule planned.

The studio will offer updates on Paul W.S. Anderson’s rendition of The Three Musketeers, the alien invasion film The Darkest Hour and, drum roll please, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. While Summit has yet to release the plans for The Three Musketeers and The Darkest Hour, the studio did announce that Breaking Dawn will be one of the very first panels in Hall H on Thursday, July 21st. Attendees will see exclusive footage from the film and take part in a filmmaker and cast Q&A.

Additionally, Summit is bringing along three authors who have books being adapted to film by the studio. There’s Eric Morgenstern, the writer of Night Circus, Isaac Marion who penned Warm Bodies and Veronica Roth, author of Divergent.

Want some even bigger news? I’ll personally be on hand at Comic Con on behalf of Shockya.com to bring you the latest from all of the Summit events and much more. While I’m certainly thrilled to get the goods on The Three Musketeers, The Darkest Hour and Breaking Dawn, I’m particularly intrigued by the opportunity to talk to some of those aforementioned authors as it’s always helpful and quite enjoyable to get a head start on what could be one of the next big book-to-film hits.

Be sure to keep an eye on Shockya.com, as with just about a month to go, Comic Con 2011 plans will likely be pouring in.
