The movie rights to author Rudolph Delson’s 2007 novel “Maynard & Jennica” have been optioned to filmmaker RJ Cutler, who is remembered for helming the 2009 Anna Wintour documentary ‘The September Issue,’ Deadline is reporting. The book, which is an urban romantic comedy, follows a New York musician-filmmaker, Maynard Gogarty, who meets Jennica Green on the subway. Their initial meeting is brief, but fate brings them together.

“Maynard & Jennica” is told through the eyes of not only Maynard and Jennica, but their family, friends and assorted characters. Among the 35 narrators are two attorneys, three journalists and a rap star.
