Good news for ‘True Blood’ star Alexander Skarsgard. The popular actor, who is best known as the hunky vampire Eric Northman to fans, is reportedly set to take the lead role, and make his debut as a producer, in a newly purchased flick by Warner Brothers. The movie, with a working title of “The Vanguard”, was sold by Atlas Entertainment and is being described as a Viking story in the making that could be the next Braveheart or Gladiator. At least that’s what movie heads behind the project, and fans, will hope to see.
While additional details surrounding the movie’s plot, written by Chris Boal, is slim at the moment, talk around the web implies that Skarsgard will be playing a viking warrior in the film. Moviefone may also have a lead on the flick, the site is reporting that the big screen feature centers on “two Viking warriors (Alexander being one of them) who embark on a journey to their native Sweden after being banished to North America.” More details are sure to be on the way.
Meanwhile, Skarsgard has several other movie roles in the works. The True Blood actor will show up in Peter Berg’s board game adaption, Battleship, the flick Straw Dogs, and Melancholia.
