Just coming off the success of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2”, Emma Watson is slate to star in the new remake of the classic story, “Beauty and the Beast”.

The new project is currently being developed by Denise Di Novi, who’s latest film, “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” which is coming out on July 29th. Also attached to this project is extremely busy filmmaker, Guillermo del Toro, who will be brougt on to produce.

Guillermo del Toro is currently working on “Pacific Rim” for Warner Bros and is attached to numerous projects including “The Haunted Manson,” “Puss In Boots” and “Pinocchio”.

Of course, there was an adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast”, that came out early this year, Daniel Barnz’s “Beastly”, starring Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer.

It would be pretty interesting to see Emma Watson outside of Hermione Granger. She will be playing Mary Elizabeth in the much anticipated “Perks of Being a Wallflower”. I would assume Emma Waston will be playing Belle in “Beauty and the Beast”.
