Stephen Colbert is one of the comedians who have blurred the lines between politics, hard news, and comedy. He keeps it up by using his “Difference Maker” segment to highlight a Philadelphia man named Patrick Rodgers who sued Wells Fargo and won. However, he also points out that the man is a vampire.

In the segment, Colbert is outraged at CNN anchor Don Lemon’s apparent calmness toward his interview subject’s long pointy teeth, and then bombards Lemon at his studio to complain about his “lack” of journalistic integrity to find out the truth about Rodgers. Dan Rather provides the voice of experience and reason about interviewing vampires, and Colbert himself interviews Rodgers about his supposed vampirism, eventually getting to why Rodgers was originally noteworthy in the first place–the lawsuit.

The video, which is posted below, is a funny way to tell the news while providing some levity for those of us who get depressed while watching the news. Also, hearing someone get over on the banks during these tough economic times is very encouraging in a “Robin Hood” kind of way.

What do you think of the video? Do you have someone you’d nominate as a “Difference Maker”? Sound off below in the comments section.
