Now this is a really big pop-culture Daily Shock: Will Smith, rapper-turned-actor-turned-megastar, is looking to revitalize his music career. Will Smith is currently filming “Men in Black III” by director Barry Sonnenfeld (Get Shorty, Men in Black II) and co-starring Alice Eve (Dolly Dimple, Sex and the City 2), Tommy Lee Jones, Emma Thompson, Rip Torn and Josh Brolin.

According to The Huffington Post, producer La Mar “Mars” Edwards said that he and Smith are working together on “bringing [Smith] back.”

Edwards said to XXL News that Smith is one of the high-profile clients he’s been working with since the release of “The Red Album” by Game.

In the past, Smith tried to revitalize his musical career; first during his “Men In Black” days as well as during his “Willenium” phase. The last album he released, “Lost and Found,” did okay, but not enough for people to say that The Fresh Prince was officially back in the music game.

Who knows if this foray back into music will stick, but music certainly is sticking for his children’s success; Willow is a star with hits like “Whip My Hair” and Jaden, who originally made his big splash in movies with his dad, is now going the rapping route with pal Justin Bieber. Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith is also into music; she has a metal band called Wicked Wisdom. Perhaps Smith can do a rap/metal collab with his wife?
