If you want to experience the film “The Hunger Games” in surrounding IMAX, you better make sure to jump on it quickly.
According to Coming Soon, “The Hunger Games” will be in IMAX digital theaters along with regular theaters Friday 23, 2012. However, the IMAX release will be only for one week and one week only.
According to the site, the IMAX release, being billed as “The Hunger Games: The IMAX Experience” will be digitally re-mastered with IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. “The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX’s customized theater geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie,” states the site.
Lionsgate’s Joe Drake said that the release of “The Hunger Games” has “truly become an epic event.” “[F]ans love this book because its world is so vividly imagined and seeing the film in IMAX will make them feel as if they have landed right in the middle of the action,” he said. According to Drake, IMAX is the ultimate way for fans to experience the film.
