According to Cosmic Book News, a video game tie-in could be released along with “The Dark Knight Rises.” The website references an anonymous UK retailer as well as cpu and gaming website MCV.

According to MCV, the retailer has a schedule for 2012 which lists a new Batman game title in the works. The schedule also lists that it will be a physical release instead of a digital one.

If there is a game for the film in the works, there’s no doubt it’ll become very popular, especially since this is the last “Batman” film for Christopher Nolan. And, seeing how this is the last film, I wouldn’t see why they wouldn’t create a game for the film–it might sound cynical, but the franchise is in the position to milk any opportunity there is to make money. In fact, it has been since the first film came out.

You can read more about the possible game at the websites linked to above. What do you think about a possible game? Give your opinions in the comments section below.

“The Dark Knight Rises” stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Josh Pence, Liam Neeson, Michael Caine and Juno Temple. The film will be released July 20.
