The first video clip for the upcoming September release ‘Killing Them Softly’ has been revealed along with an explanation behind the movie’s title. A crime comedy, the movie stars Moneyball’s Brad Pitt as the character Jackie Cogan, “a professional enforcer who investigates a heist that went down during a mob-protected poker game.” Seen in the trailer is Pitt’s alter ego talking with supporting actor Richard Jenkins (Step Brothers, Dear John) who looks both perplexed and inquisitive in a car while listening to Cogan’s methods of killing. Not much else happens in the clip that comes from director Andrew Dominik ((The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford), who also wrote the screenplay adaption with the help of novelist George V. Higgins.
Also appearing alongside the two in the movie is actress Bella Heathcote of the recently released movie’In Time’, Scoot McNairy from ‘Monsters’, Ray Liotta from ‘Goodfellas’, The Road’s Garret Dillahunt, as well as Max Casella, Vincent Curatola, and James Gandolfini, all of ‘Sopranos’ fame.
