Blanc Biehn Productions has announced that they’re producing the English language remake of filmmaker Patricio Valladares’ ‘En Las afueras de la Ciudad’ (‘Hidden in the Woods’). Michel Biehn will star in the remake, which will see Valladares returning at the helm. ‘Hidden in the Woods’ will be written by Valladares and Andrea Cavaletto, the original film’s scribes and creators.

Biehn and Jennifer Blanc Bihn will produce ‘Hidden in the Woods,’ which will begin production at the end of 2012 in Chile. Blanc Biehn and her company, Blanc Biehn Productions, and Jennifer Gray at The Law Offices of Elsa Ramo brokered the deal. Of working with Valladares, Biehn said “I am thrilled to be working with Patricio-I’ve been waiting a very long time for a project like this to cross my path!”

Mitch Davis, the Co-Festival Director of the Fantasia International Film Festival, where ‘En Las afueras de la Ciudad’ will premiere on August 6, agreed with Biehn’s testament. “Patricio is a ferocious new talent, very much like a young Peckinpah in the rough, crossed with Gaspar Noe.” Davis added that Valladares’ style of filmmaking “is the very definition of explosive,” Davis said.
