HBO has released the official poster for its upcoming third season of its acclaimed drama series ‘Treme,’ which premieres on Sunday, September 23 at 10pm. The new season starts off in New Orleans 25 months after the end of season two, with crime and corruption up and culture being trampled.

The third season of ‘Treme’ revisits the workers, families and dreamers who still live in New Orleans. The musicians, chefs, Mardi Gras Indians and other familiar characters are continuing to rebuild their lives, homes and culture in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

During Season 3 of ‘Treme,’ which takes place between Fall 2007 and Spring 2008, crime and government ineptitude continue to cripple New Orlean’s recovery. The series will focus on the ordinary people who no longer accept their lack of influence on the institutions that have controlled the city.

A murder prosecution will unite several characters of ‘Treme,’ which will also explore the city’s handling of justice, schools and politics. The drama will also chart the inspiring, grassroots efforts to preserve the individuality of the iconic city.
