If you read ShockYa’s interview with Kit Williamson, you might have heard him rep an indie film he was a part of, “Best Friends Forever”. If you have been wanting to know more about that film or where you can see it, count today as your lucky day.

Gravitas Ventures has announced that “Best Friends Forever,” a Slamdance favorite, is now available today, July 1, exclusively on iTunes. A larger VOD rollout will start July 5, meaning the film will be available in more than 100 million homes on demand.

The film stars Brea Grant (“Dexter,” “Heroes”) and Williamson’s “Hipsterhood” co-star Vera Miao (who can also be seen on “NCIS”) and tells the story of two best friends wo leave Los Angeles after a nuclear attack. Here’s more about “Best Friends Forever”:

“BEST FRIENDS FOREVER is a clever dark comedy and heartfelt road trip buddy film wrapped in an apocalyptic disaster story, with two badass girls. Harriet (Brea Grant), a perpetually optimistic comic-book artist, dreams of escaping her past in Los Angeles and hits the road for a new life in Austin, Texas. She drags Reba (Vera Miao), her seemingly devil-may-care BFF, along for the ride. In the hush period following mysterious nuclear explosions, the girls are forced to ask: When faced with the end of the world – what is most important to you?”

In celebration of the iTunes release, art from the film by renowned comic book artists Fabio Moon (Eisner Award winner) and Ryan Kelly will be avaiable at BreaGrant.com.
