“No Warning. No Escape.” Not that Paul Anderson, this is the new movie from Paul W.S. Anderson, not Paul Thomas Anderson. This is a movie from the very much lesser Paul Anderson. Paul W.S. Anderson might not be as critically acclaimed as Paul Thomas Anderson, but his films do appeal to a large swath of the general public. While his films are not as gestures of artistic expression, they are action packed and exciting… for the most part. Read the film’s synopsis below:

“Set in 79 A.D., Pompeii tells the story of Milo (Kit Harington), a slave turned invincible gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Cassia (Emily Browning), the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant who has been unwillingly betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts, Milo must fight his way out of the arena in order to save his beloved as the once magnificent Pompeii crumbles around him.”

The new poster looks good! It emphasizes the film’s love story, while focusing in on the inevitable. In this case, a disastrous volcano.

Paul W.S. Anderson’s latest features actors Kit Harington, Carrie-Anne Moss, Emily Browning, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica Lucas, Jared Harris, and Kiefer Sutherland.

Pompeii will hit theaters everywhere on February 21, 2014, in 3D.
