John Goodman Being Held in a Captive State in Sci-Fi Thriller’s First Photo

Focus Features has released the first photo from co-writer-director Rupert Wyatt’s sci-fi thriller, ‘Captive State,’ which features John Goodman.

John Goodman is protecting himself from the menacing ‘Captive State‘ in the first official photo from the upcoming sci-fi film. The still was released by Participant Media, which served as one of the production companies on the movie, which recently wrapped its shoot in Chicago.

Focus Features will distribute the film in U.S. theaters on August 17, 2018. ‘Captive State’ is being directed by ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ and ‘The Gambler‘ helmer, Rupert Wyatt. The director also co-wrote the original screenplay with Erica Beeney. In addition to Goodman, the thriller also stars Ashton Sanders, Jonathan Majors and Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Vera Farmiga. Wyatt is also producing the drama with David Crockett, while Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King are serving as executive producers.

The following synopsis for the movie has been released by Focus Features:

Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force, ‘Captive State’ explores the lives on both sides of the conflict – the collaborators and dissidents.
