Netflix has released the official poster for its live action supernatural horror movie, ‘Death Note,’ which was directed by Adam Wingard.

The terrifying official trailer and poster for the original Netflix supernatural horror film, ‘Death Note,’ has been released by the streaming service. The assets for the fantasy drama, which was helmed by ‘Blair Witch’ and ‘You’re Next’ director, Adam Wingard, is helping to promote its upcoming release. ‘Death Note’ is set to premiere on Netflix, as well as in select theaters in New York and Los Angeles, on August 25.

The live action screen adaptation of ‘Death Note’ is based on the famous Japanese manga, which was written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The mystery movie’s screenplay was penned by Charley Parlapanides, Vlas Parlapanides and Jeremy Slater. The Netflix original movie stars Nat Wolff, Margaret Qualley, Lakeith Stanfield, Paul Nakauchi, Shea Whigham and Willem Dafoe as the voice of Ryuk.

The following synopsis for ‘Death Note’ has been released by Netflix:

A high school student, who comes across a supernatural notebook, realizes it holds within it a great power. If the owner inscribes someone’s name into it while picturing their face, he or she will die. Intoxicated with his new godlike abilities, the young man begins to kill those he deems unworthy of life.
