Being led to embark on an emotional journey that questions their existence can powerfully change people’s outlook on life. That compelling quest is a major theme in several movies that are scheduled to have their World Premieres at this month’s Sundance Film Festival. Those movies include director Panos Cosmatos’ action thriller, ‘Mandy,’ and helmer Qasim Basir’s romance drama, ‘A Boy. A Girl. A Dream: Love on Election Night.’
‘Mandy,’ which was written by Cosmatos and Aaron Stewart-Ahn, stars Nicolas Cage, Andrea Riseborough, Linus Roache, Bill Duke, Richard Brake, Ned Dennehy, Olwen Fouere and Hayley Saywell. The thriller, which is set in the Pacific Northwest in 1983, focuses on outsiders Red Miller (Cage) and Mandy Bloom (Riseborough). The duo leads a loving and peaceful existence. But their reality chances when their pine-scented haven is savagely destroyed by a cult led by the sadistic Jeremiah Sand. Red is catapulted and brought into a journey that’s filled with bloody vengeance and laced with fire.
The World Premiere of ‘Mandy’ is set for tonight at 11:59pm MT at the Library Center Theatre. Below is the rest of the screening schedule for the thriller, with all screenings taking place in Park City, Utah, unless otherwise noted:

The movie is set on the night of the 2016 Presidential election. Cass (Hardwick), an L.A. club promoter, takes a thrilling and emotional journey with Frida (Good), a Midwestern visitor.
