The distribution rights to Walter Salles’ film adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s novel ‘On the Road’ has been picked up by IFC Films and Suncance Selects, Collider is reporting. The distribution rights weren’t immediately picked up, despite the fact that the action drama is one of the highest profile independent films recently, and is the first film adaption of Kerouac’s novel. ‘On the Road,’ which has a planned theatrical release for this fall, stars Kirsten Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley, Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams and Elizabeth Moss.
