CinemaBlend is reporting that David Goyer, part of the writing team behind the successful film “Batman Begins”, is going to write the script to Legendary Pictures’ “Godzilla” remake. According to Deadline, Goyer will write the screenplay based on a draft by David Callaham. Goyer’s most recent project includes writing “Man of Steel,” the Superman remake that promises to be grittier and closer to the Superman storyline than the film “Superman Returns.” “Godzilla,” a film franchise that was popular in the late ’60s and ’70s, has tried to have a revamp in recent years, but to no success. David Goyer Hints at Superman Reboot Plot

Screenwriter David Goyer hinted at what the storyline for the new ‘Superman’ reboot, to be directed by Zack Snyder, may focus on, Cinemablend.com is reporting. Goyer penned a forward for the new graphic novel Superman: Secret Origin by Geoff Johns. After reflecting on one of the scenes in the book, he wrote that he’s halfway through his screenplay. While Goyer admits that he may become hindered in finishing the script, like many previous ‘Superman’ screenwriters before him, he hopes to be inspired by Johns’s Superman stories. Warner Bros. and New Line are scrapping the planned adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan’s comic book ‘Y: The Last Man,’ at least for the time being. Louis Leterrier, who directed such movies as ‘The Incredible Hulk’ and ‘Clash of the Titans,’ was at one time attached to bring the comic to the big screen. David Goyer has been confirmed as writing the new Superman movie, which will be titled “The Man of Steel”. A new Superman film, rumored to be a “reboot” of the franchise based on the popular DC Comics character, has been in talks since 2006′s “Superman Returns” starring Brandon Routhe and directed by Bryan Singer (neither of whom will be returning to the franchise). Goyer, who has also worked on the “Blade” movies and the “Demonic Toys” and “Puppetmaster” franchises, is also attached to assist with the story to the third Christopher Nolan “Batman” movie.
