Jack Black and writer-director Steve Pink have acquired the rights to the semi-satiric book ‘How to Survive a Robot Uprising,’ Slashfilm.com is reporting. The book gives insights into the current state of robotics, speculates how robots could rise against humans and provides humans with tips on how to survive such an uprising. There isn’t any word yet on whether or not Black will be starring in the film. Maggie Grace (“Taken”) is in negotiations to join the upcoming untitled Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz spy thriller project, to be directed by James Mangold. Cathy Konrad, Todd Garner, Steve Pink, and Joe Roth are producing. The film centers on a woman (Diaz) who goes on a blind date and her life is turned upside-down by the appearance of a super-spy (Cruise), who takes her on a violent worldwide journey to protect a key to infinite usable energy, a mysterious and powerful battery.
