After the SyFy Channel announced that it had canceled ‘Stargate: Universe,’ the newest series in the popular military science fiction ‘Stargate’ franchise, last month, fans still expected to see ‘Stargate: Atlantis’ and ‘SG-1′ specials in the future. But the network has confirmed that after the remaining original episodes of ‘Universe’s second season air this spring, the entire franchise will end, Cinemablend.com is reporting. The SyFy network has greenlit  another ‘Battlestar Galactica’ prequel series, even though it’s still airing its current prequel, ‘Caprica,’ Slashfilm.com is reporting. The new two hour pilot, titled ‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome,’ will follow a young William Adama as he serves as a Viper pilot during the first Cylon war. He is ordered to serve during a top secret, but dangerous, mission during the war with the Cylon robots. ‘Blood and Chrome’ is rumored to focus more on the action that was customary during the original re-imaged series SyFy ran for four seasons, starting in 2004. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Framelight has obtained the rights to the cult comic book “Chi-Chian” and are planning a full-length feature film. A six-part comic series from Cuban-American musician Voltaire, the dark fairy tale-influenced “Chi-Chian” is set in a dystopian New York that is now under the control of Japan, and a seemingly normal young woman who inexplicably becomes a heroine that battles various threats such as the undead, robots, and samurai, in order to protect her loved ones. “Chi-Chian” has spawned a role-playing game as well as an online webseries for the SyFy Channel.
